Disciplines of Wudang

At Spring & Autumn Martial Arts, the goal is to share the Wudang & Daoist traditions both for health and martial skill. But everyone is looking to gain from their practice a variety of benefits that vary from student to student. With this in mind, classes are held as a group, but with the focus on individual skill training.

The disciplines are broken down into five class categories:

Wudang Taijiquan – The art of Tai Chi is considered the highest form of martial arts. This internal system of listening and sensitivity training offers the student longevity and softness. Taught with Qigong, rooting postures, and application, this unique style of Taijiquan (Yin & Yang Fist) is directly transmitted from the sacred Wudang Mountains. More Information...

Wudang Gongfu – The fluid and esoteric systems of Wu-Tang Kung Fu are a collection of skills unique from any other art, offering aggressive footwork with deep and twisting stances. Taught with Qigong, extensive drilling, and application, this unique style of Traditional Wushu is only found at the Wudang Mountains. More Information...

Daoist Qigong – For those not looking specifically for martial skill, but are heavily invested in health-mindfulness, the cultivation of qi, or a variety of rehabilitation therapies, the practices of Daoist Qigong, meditation, and & Daoyin are offered. These practices are a mix of Wudang unique skills and practices form other Daoist sects and mountains. More Information...

Tai Chi For Health – For those that are looking for Tai Chi, but are not martially minded, these classes avoid the aggressive and demanding postures while focusing primarily on sensitivity, flow, and health. These classes are more accessible than the martial skill classes for students with disabilities or reoccurring injuries. More Information...

Meditation – There are many forms of meditation and different practices for calming the heart-mind. At Spring & Autumn Martial Arts, we focus on a variety of Daoist meditation practices, including sitting, standing, & walking. These practice are excellent for those already focused on a martial discipline, but are interested in incorporating a more spiritual or self-realization discipline into their studies.
